 Medion launches Akoya P8610 18″ media centre notebook

Medion’s new Akoya P8610 Media Center Laptop boasts a 18.4-inch display (1,680 x 945) with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a 512MB GeForce 9600M GS graphics card, a Blu-ray drive, and a 5.1 Dolby audio system. Other features include 3 USB ports, an eSATA/USB port, a 1.3MP camera, an HDMI port, LAN, VGA out, and 802.11 b/g/draft-n WLAN. You can choose between a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Vista OS. The laptop is also cheap with the price tag at only $1,100.

 Prime Note Cartina UM Linux Powered Netbook

DosPara has recently introduced the new Linux powered netbook in the form of the Prime Note Cartina. Weighing at only 1.1kg, this netbook features an 8.9 inch (WSVGA) LCD with an Atom N270 CPU, 120GB of HDD, 1GB RAM, and WiFi B/G. Good news that the company also provides the driver for Windows XP OS. Only 30 units of these Prime Note Cartina UM that wil be available in the Japanese market

Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook For $549

The 1.33GHz Atom version with 1GB RAM, 40GB storage, and Vista Home retails for $549, meanwhile the 1.6GHz version with 60GB storage and 6-cell battery for $599 (or $654 after promo). The high end version with 80GB hard drive with a 2-year warranty is priced at $678 (or $758 after promo). All versions will be released in December this year

The spanking new Dell Inspiron Mini 12 netbook has been released in Japan. It is a little bit larger than the Inspiron Mini 9. Priced at $600 upwards depending on the configuration, the netbook is powered by either Linux Ubuntu or Microsoft Windows XP OS with 1GB RAM, a choice of 60GB or 80GB hard drive, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, an integrated webcam, and a 12.1 inch WXGA display screen.

The Asus Eee PC S101 netbook will be released on November 1st, 2008 in the US. Asus’s latest netbook offers an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB SSD and 30GB hard drive, a 10.2 inch LED backlit display with 1,024 x 600 resolution and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. Priced at $699, this super thin netbook measures 0.75 inch thick and weighing 2.3 pounds. It is available in copper brown or graphite colors.

MSI will release the new 3.5G Wind 120 netbook sometime next month. The netbook features Windows XP OS with Intel’s Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 8.9-inch display screen. This highly anticipated netbook retails for $552. The price tag will be cheaper if MSI makes a deal with American 3G network operators like AT&T or T-Mobile. Taiwan’s Vibo Telecom is the first carrier to subsidize the Netbook.
