
RKS Design, the world-recognized industrial design firm, has created a concept gPhone.The Mimique is a response to feature-heavy cell phones that look more like PDAs than phones. Playful and engaging, the Mimique’s design marries the heritage of old-school cell phones with next-generation style and touch-screen technology. The Mimique will use the new open-source cell phone software which will allow users to download features and “skins.” With downloadable upgrades, users won’t need to buy a new phone to get new features.
And the “skins” will allow users to change the graphic interface to match their mood or preferences. Designed for users who don’t take themselves or their phones too seriously, the eye-catching Mimique concept phone is poised to play a whole new game.

LG Electronics today launches its touchscreen phone ‘Bikini’ in Korea market, which features its unique InteractPad.The InteractPad makes keys of the phone far more flexible than standard hardware keys and eliminates the need to memorize exactly which key performs what function. These virtual keys are also larger and better spaced than physical keys, improving accuracy. Coming to the specs the phone has a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, expandable memory, FM Radio and Bluetooth. For a change the phone is already available in the west as ‘Venus(model: LG-VX8800′ in US market and ‘Touch Menu Phone(model: LG-KF600)’ in Europe market. ASUS announced that it is going to release its new PDA phone ‘P560′, which runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and TI’s OMAP2430 processor.Adopting a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 320*240 resolution and 3.2M camera, the P560 supports 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, WLAN/Bluetooth connectivity and A-GPS function.PDA phone P560 will be available in June for 500 EUR

Samsung announced the launch of F400, a dual slider music phone designed to bring top quality music and sound anytime, anywhere. With F400, users will experience a sonic bliss within the palms of their own hands.
F400 also boasts other great features. A 3-megapixel camera with AF, FM Radio and Bluetooth v 2.0 supports provide convenience and entertainment. Storage space is never an issue for F400, with an in-box 1GB SD memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 8GB to store all music files. USB 2.0 HS is also available for an extra mass storage space. A 3.5 mm earphone jack is definitely a plus, letting users plug in their favorite headsets directly to the phone.
F400 will first be available in France in May, in two colors, black and white, with glossy finishing that resembles black and white piano keys. It will continue to be available in other European countries as well as many other countries in Asia, Southeast Asia, and Middle East.

Emir Rifat ISIK’s Packet is the winner of Istanbul Design Week 2007 where it won the first place for this concept phone.The cell phone will measure a mere 5×5 cm in its folded state, and when the thing opens up, it will reveal 5 individual touchscreens with a keypad, display, mini-keyboard x2, and a surface with touch-sensitive buttons. The entire phone will be made of a material not unlike epaper making the Packet extremely thin and lightweight, and the fact that it will be made from ecofriendly materials adds a touch of green to it.
