The Poplight is the latest LED lighting fixture to come from Mathmos, the same guys responsible for the original Lava Lamp back in the 1960s.Each Poplight is made from handblown glass and gradually fades between shades of blue, purple, violet, magenta, red, and back. The fixtures measure just a little more than 6-inches tall, making them perfect for a bookshelf or other small nook.
If you live here in the States, you can grab the Poplight from Mathmos US for $75 each (about $88 with International shipping). If you happen to be fortunate enough to reside in Mathmos’ native UK, order from Mathmos UK for just £28 a pop.

There is something beautifully elemental about the Gaya fireplace presented by Safretti. When the fireplace is lit, it appears that fire is escaping through a slit in the primitive black stainless steel stove setting. This raw, pared-down style would be equally at home in a modern or transitional interior, and though simple, it is bound to attract comments and admiration. The company, Safretti, is concerned to make sustainable design furniture through careful craftsmanship – this is an innovative design that will last and last.Visit the Safretti.com website for more information

A talented artist of British Magazine T3 has put together his innovative ideas for bringing out this pretty Xbox360 Mobile.
The one that has caught our eye is the Microsoft Zune / Xbox 360 / mobile phone hybrid. Apart from being just plain sexy to look at, the short list of imaginary specs are eyebrow raising to say the least with a 64GB flash drive, familiar Xbox gaming controls and a quality in-built MP3 player. There isn’t much in the way of explanation about how the mobile phone aspect of the device would work, though it doesn’t seem like a realistic design was weighing heavy on the mind of the photoshop guru that came up with this gorgeous render.

Panasonic announced, Toughbook CF-U1. The handheld is the first-ever rugged ultra-mobile PC based on Intel’s ultra-efficient Atom processor and uses a 1.33GHz version of the chip to both run Windows Vista Business at reasonable speeds as well as to extend the U1’s battery life: a unique twin-battery system gives the Toughbook between six and eight hours of real-world use and lets users hot-swap batteries for even more use without turning off the system. The storage itself also helps protect the system; a 16GB or 32GB solid-state drive gives the handheld skip-proof storage and has the incidental benefits of improving battery life and cutting back on load times.
Panasonic also gives the CF-U1 relatively quick 802.11n Wi-Fi, 1GB of memory, Bluetooth, and an SD card reader. The system will be available to a wide audience but will be chiefly pitched to field workers when it goes on sale for Americans in August at a $2,499 price.
